b) ‘radiopharmaceutical’
2. Radioisotopes are used for medical imaging purposes. Describe the
production of the radioisotopes shown below.

3. The properties of a radioisotope are important to consider when using
in a medical setting. State and explain why 99mTc is used in
preference to 123 I for investigating cerebral blood flow in a brain scan.
