Introduction

In this Assignment, I will be evaluating and analysing the external factors that influence businesses/
or a business in general, to trade to different countries. I will also be carrying out a carefully
reviewed business in which I have chosen and will relate that to two countries in which my chosen
business may consider trading in. The objectives of P5, P6, P7, M3, M4, D2 and D3. Each outline will
be executed and covered in detail in relation to the entire assignment. Now, going into the
assignment the start off outline would P5.

P5: Explain the external factors that influence a selected business considering trading
internationally.

As defined from the Google definitions, External factors are considered factor that a business may
not be able to control. This could be situation that have arisen along with Political, Economic, Social,
Technological, Legal, and regulatory, Environmental and Ethical factors, in other words this is known
as the PESTLE analysis with is a collaborative bunch of external categorised factors.

As explained in my previous assignment, I had chosen the two businesses which is , Aston Martin
and PrettyLittlething , which are two business that operate in different markets industries however
in this assignment , I will go in to depth on the influence that Aston Martin has had on an external
basis .

To recap, Aston Martin is a British car manufacturer that focuses on the creation of Luxury sports
cars and Grand Tourers. the company is associated with sponsoring grand prix races for formula 1
racers and competing in the Automobile Industry alongside Lamborghini, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar Etc.

The company’s main production site is Warwickshire, England however Aston Martin sources
materials from external suppliers that produce parts for their Luxury sports vehicles. These external
suppliers are mainly located in Germany (Daimler AG), China (Pearl Delta) and Other parts of South
East Asia. The business alongside sourcing its parts internationally has many stores across the globe
and have established a suitable internationally network both inside the EU and just recently having
made deals through the transition of Brexit with assistance with the WTO (World trade
Organisation). Now that the International presence has been understood, I can now thoroughly
explain how the company may be impacted through external factors. This will be done through a
PESTLE analysis:

Political Factors - As Aston Martin is quite a well-known car manufacturer and operates on an
international, level. The two main political concerns from the business now are :1. The Planned exit
of the UK from the EU and How the company will transition 2. Potential Political Developments in
Operational Sites. These political concerns both are the main reasons that the business does have
to plan for potential new developments from Political Parties:

The Planned Exit of the UK from the EU

This is the utmost concern for Aston Martin as the business had established trading terms with
several countries in which their luxury sports cars were shipped to however there trading terms
were only valid because the UK was operating under a trading bloc (The European Union) . Now that
the United Kingdom is no longer operating under the EU these trading terms and invalid and until
the Outcome of the Exit of the UK from the EU is seen the business would have to mirror or establish
new trading terms countries in which the business trades to. This could result in the business paying
more tax, VAT along with additional clearance charges and fees.
