M3. Develop a coherent marketing mix that is targeted at a defined group of
potential customers
In the first part of this task I will explain the marketing mix, each segment of it and
how it relates to my Pastel&CoCo Salon.
The term "marketing mix" is a foundation model for businesses, historically centered
around product, price, place, and promotion. The marketing mix has been defined as
the "set of marketing tools that the firm uses to pursue its marketing objectives in the
target market". It can be also describe as a combination of factors that can be
controlled by a company to influence consumers to purchase its products.
I will use the marketing mix to identify the main characteristics of my business in
order to promote it to my target market. I will also use it to establish a successful
business idea.




The market segment that my Pastel&CoCo Salon will target are mainly female, age
between 16 and 20, college students in Haringey Sixth Form College, no particular
race or ethnicity, people with skin problems. Even though, I target mainly females my
Salon will be targeted towards males as well.

Product - ​This refers to the goods and/or services offered by a company to its
customers. In my salon we will offer many services such as eyebrow threading and
facial hair removal, we will also offer products such as home face masks,
moisturisers and cleansers. However, the main services we will offer are facials done
with products created from natural ingredients.
