One hundred thirty-six days before
Miles Cavalry (6-feet skinny, from Florida) goes to boarding school (Culver Creek) at his going away
party only Marie and Will appear. No friends of his. Miles likes reading biographies of writer, Francois
Rabelais was a poet. His last words were ‘I go seek a Great Perhaps’. That’s why M is going to
boarding school so he doesn’t have to wait until he dies to start seeking a Great Perhaps. M likes
reading famous last words.
His roommate Chip Martin, a short, 5-feet, muscular guy with a shock of brown hair, from Alabama. A
junior, a scholarship kid and this was the best school in Alabama. He says to M I’m not going to be
your entrée to Culver Creek social life. He means that he is no hot shit at school. He wants M to call
him The Colonel. And he will call M, Pudge because he is skinny (it’s called irony).
They walk to room 48, Alaska has a single room because her roommate got kicked out last year. After
seven you’ve to leave the door when you are in a girl’s room open. Alaska tells she has her boobs
honked over the summer by a friend, Justin and she is still dating Jake. The Colonel talks Pudge into
paying five dollars for a pack of Marlboro Lights to A. P has no intention of ever smoking. However
later he takes a cigarette. It doesn’t workout well...he is convinced his Great Perhaps doesn’t involve
cigarettes. The Colonel tells him that the only important thing is not to rat someone out. The Colonel
leaves to find his girlfriend.
Alaska is beautiful, curvy with fierce emerald eyes. Alaska and The Colonel came to school as
freshman. Alaska got him his first girlfriend, who het dumped after a month because she was too
rich. A and C are both smart and study from a scholarship.

One hundred twenty-seven days before
Pudge falls asleep in only his boxershort.. at about one he is taken by among others Kevin out of bed.
They take him to the beach ty him up with duct tape and throw him the sea. And saying this is for
hanging out with the Colonel, they don’t like him. But he gets out of the water.
He goes to Alaska but she is not nice to him. So he goes back to his own room. He didn’t before
because he wasn’t allowed to be friends with The Colonel. The C tells that they do it to everyone but
that they are not supposed to use tape. P could have drowned. The C says he will deal with the
bastards for messing with his friend. P decides to go always (even when it is too hot) go to sleep in a
T-shirt, shorts and socks because you never know what is going to happen to you.

One hundred twenty-six days before
The next morning The C find out that before taking P they pissed in his shoes, it is war!
During the lessons P points out 3 of them. Now A knows they duct taped him she is also furious.

One hundred twenty-two days before
Sara girlfriend Chip (Colonel) is upset because he didn’t iron his shirt they are going to the opera with
her parents. She leaves him behind. She tells him the Warriors think he ratted out Marya and Paul
(dismissed from school because they slept with eachother).

One hundred ten days before
Pudge is sent out of class by Dr. Hyde for glancing out of the window. Alaska comes with him because
she thinks it is nonsense. Takumi can rap. Alaska smokes a lot she says: ‘ Y’all smoke to enjoy, I smoke
to die.

One hundred nine days before
They go to a basketball game. Hank plays he always has and always uses weed before a play.

, Kevin wants a truce offer between him and The Colonel. He asks Pudge they nearly drowned him. He
says Nuts. When P doesn’t know the last words of a president Kevin names it is truce. Millard
Fillmore... P knows the words, no truce. During the game The C makes up yells. The other coach
complains that het is bothering his players. He is kicked out of the gym. P follows him.

One hundred one days before p 51
A teaches P precalc and he passes wit B-plus.

One hundred days before
Alaska picked her own name it means’ that which the sea breaks against’. After college she wants to
teach disabled kids.

Ninety-nine days before
They (A, T, P, The C) are caught smoking by The Eagle = Eagles real name is Mr. Starnes. He will see
them tomorrow at 5 in Jury.

Ninety-eight days before
The Jury are 12 students every semester selected from the classes. You made your case in front of
the Jury and they punished you.
In front of the Kury The Colonel told that only he and A were smoking. They are only punished
(doung dishes in the cafeteria).

Eighty-nine days before
A keeps breaking the rules of smoking and being in another room after dark with closed door. She
announces she has found Pudge/Miles a girlfriend.
The go on a triple date (A and boyfriend Jack, The Colonel and girlfriend Sara, he doesn’t like
anymore and P and Lara).

Eighty-seven days before
In the date they govto a match. The Colonel makes on if the players angry en in the end a ball hits P
square across the side of his face. He throws up on his dates pants. He has a concussion.
The next dat The C tells him that Sara dumped him. Sara had told Jaje that he had a hard-on for
Alaska. The C is sad because although they fought a lot he really loved her.

Eighty-four days before
Then the rain started. It made hermits of them all. The C hardly spoke. P didn’t dare to speak to Lara
after the date he puked on her. Although she found it no big deal. And he saw A only in class. She
came late and left immediately after. One night in the cafeteria he tries to talk to her but she doesn’t
want him to ask her questions. She only say (condescending = neerbuigend) that he didn’t do
anything wrong.

Seventy-six days before
They have class from dr. Hyde about Christianity. Alaska doesn’t attend class. When class is finished
outside A is coming running to them she is screaming that the Weekday Warriors have flooded her
room all gee books are ruined.

Sixty-seven days before
Takumi tells P the weekday Warriors did it because A is famous for pranking. They go for a smoke but
not to the smoke hole. T tells that A ratted on Marya (expelled roommate) so maybe she also told the
Eagle about the smoke hole. One night she got busted withva bottle of wine when she was sneaking
out to Jake. He says the C doesn’t know. Why doesn’t A want to get expelled that she tells about her
friend Marya. She doesn’t obviously doesn’t like home. P swears he won’t rat. He now understands
