, Perifere retina: alles tussen equator en ora serrata
Ora serrata: Grens tussen retina en corpus ciliare. Bevat verschillende inhammen/plooien.
Equator: punt van maximale diameter van oog
Macula: 5-6mm diameter
Fovea: ongeveer 1,5mm
Foveale avasculaire zone (FAZ): ongeveer 0,6mm
Foveola: ongeveer 0,35mm
Umbo: punt in het midden foveola, daar komt de foveale
reflex vandaan.
Indeling van de fovea van foveaal naar perifoveaal.
Hierbuiten valt iets perifeer.
RPE: Cellaag verbonden met membraan van Bruch en fotoreceptoren. Voorziet de fotoreceptoren
van voedingstoffen, vormt bloed-retina barrière, absorbeert licht en heeft een pompfunctie uit de
subretinale ruimte en zorgt dat geen vocht in het choriocapillaris lekt.
Membraan van Bruch: Scheiding van RPE en choriocapillaris. Bestaat uit bindweefsel en elastine, erg
stevig. Belangrijk bij pathogenese macula afwijkingen als CNV.
