Applying an Ethical Theory

For too many years, sexual empowerment has been a major issue. The man has been

considered the equivalent of the sexes during these years. The male, the provider and the

decision maker are considered powerful. Females became physically, passively and inferior on

the other hand. The culture has worked to shift the opinions as far as the world sees the two sexes

is concerned. Deontology argues that discrimination between men and women is often false and

that more improvement is required in how we define the two genders in order for our society to

be equal.

Ethics in deontology refer to gender equity, for everybody has a duty and a duty to treat

everyone fairly regardless of the consequences. The philosophy of ethics is that decision-making

should be taken wholly by consideration of one's responsibilities and other people's rights. Kant's

(2013) notes that the moral meaning of an action is not included in any planned consequence but

is the act itself (Pg. 2). The ethical philosophy focusses on individual will and takes no

consideration of repercussions when assessing the morality of an act Deontologists are aware of

the consequences of an act (Mosser, 2013, Sec. 6.1).

Gender inequality is always incorrect, and equality between men and women is always

right, because if you consider that the two sexes are not equal this will affect the sex which is

called the lower of both. For example, because women are treated as less than equal to men, such

women may be considered a man's property as his. There is still a flaw in seeing someone as an

item or an end (Mosser, 2013, Sec. 6.1).

They should be regarded and handled fairly when it comes to being male or female.

Everyone has the right to decide oneself and how we build our opinions on things and others.
