Owners
An Owner is someone who owns stock in a business, giving them power to
choose what happens to the company. They build a business to gain profit from
it and hope to employ individuals who will help to make the business grow.
Tesco’s current owner is CEO Dave Lewis, however, as Tesco is a large PLC it
consists of having a board of directors which means that Tesco have many
shareholders who take part in the business and help handle the decision making
and activities of the business. The role of the owners/shareholders is to manage
the business and take care of any expenses and liabilities that the business holds.

Employees
Employees are individuals who work in a business to receive wages and use it
as a source of income. They either work fixed or flexible hours and are assigned
different responsibilities to carry out. Everyone below the owners and
shareholders in the business’s hierarchy have different job levels to each other.
E.g. after the owners are the managers, next are senior members of staff, and
then there are all the other staff at the bottom. It is good for employees to work
with their managers and owners so that they can learn more about the business
and work effectively to make it grow.

Customers
Customers are vital for a business to grow and are people who purchase goods
from a company and use their services too. Customers take interest in Tesco as
they buy different products ranging from food to clothes and utilise the different
services Tesco offer, such as the petrol station, Tesco bank and a telecom
(Tesco mobile). Many people use Tesco’s goods and services as they provide
quality products and want to meet their customers' needs as much as possible.
Tesco’s have different aims and purposes but one of them us to make it easier to
live more healthily which shows that Tesco care about their customers a lot and
in return the customers will give their feedback based on the goods and services
so that Tesco can make improvements which will attract more customers.
Moreover, Tesco offer affordable prices for their customers and have an online
website which enables people from across the world to have access to their
organisation.

Government
The government is a group of individuals who manage a country or state. They
usually control a businesses’ activities so that companies don’t take advantage
of how big they are and exploit their consumers. The government make sure
that companies are producing and providing suitable products and services for

, the local community as they have a responsibility of keeping the local
community safe. They also make sure that companies do not do anything which
will harm the environment. In addition, they are important for a business such
as Tesco to begin or grow as they are the only people who can grant permission
for the company to carry-out any plans like placing different Tesco stores in
different locations meaning that the board of directors of Tesco will have to
consult the government if they want to do anything regarding locating their
stores.

Local community
A local community is a group of people who live in the same area within a
small radius who interact together. The local community are interested in Tesco
because it provides jobs for people and helps them by providing services such
as the petrol station, Tesco mobile and Tesco banking. Most of the local
community are also customers so they’ll have more interest in the business
because without them businesses would not be able to run. Tesco also make
sure their products are environment friendly which will encourage the local
community to take care of the environment too.

Pressure groups
Pressure groups in a business pressurise businesses and influence them about
what the community think about the business and their environment. The
pressure groups will check to see whether Tesco are running their business
properly and see if there are any improvements that need to be made.

Suppliers
Businesses buy their products from suppliers, so, without reliable suppliers it
would not be guaranteed that Tesco will have their products delivered on time
and be in good condition. They are either a company or an individual who sell
goods and services to another business. Tesco’s work in a partnership with their
suppliers and try to manage the amount of food wastage that occurs. Suppliers
are interested in this PLC as it buys products from them.
