sector and what type of ownership type they have.
A short backstory of Noah was that it was founded by Sister Eileen who has seen the
homelessness in Luton and offered them space in her. Slowly people had seen what she was
doing and different support and then later offered training courses to do with crafts and life
skills and moreover after sister Eileen retired the business was still on going and had more
volunteers helping out.
Tesco was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen as a group of market stalls. The Tesco name first
appeared in 1924, after Cohen purchased a shipment of tea from T. E. Stockwell and
combined those initials with the first two letters of his surname and the first Tesco shop
opened in 1931 in Burnt Oak, Barnet. His business expanded rapidly, and by 1939 he had
over 100 Tesco shops across the country and now there are about 7,000 stores worldwide
over 13 different countries
Mission and purpose
NOAH Enterprise is a charity based in Luton town which seeks, out of Christian conviction, to help
the most disadvantaged in the local community, it is concerned with providing a caring service to
people who are homeless particularly those who are temporary or entrenched rough sleepers, and
those who are marginalised and socially excluded, or have simply fallen into poverty. Their initial
purpose is to defeat poverty by offering a hand to the most disadvantaged in the local
community and offer them support and shelter and foot ect. They will accomplish this by
having their volunteers and teams to go around local community and get people of the
streets, whatever position they are in.
Tesco is one of the largest supermarkets in the world who offers products from all sort of
ranges from clothes to food. Tesco’s main aim is to be the biggest supplier and supermarket
in the world, they are currently doing this by opening more and more stores around the
world therefore by the end they will have stores all over the globe and can be announced
biggest supermarket in the world. Offering the best quality of products that the customers
want for a reasonable price this is what makes Tesco popular and the best.
Type of business
Local
What makes a business local is that it sells its products and services to customers in a small
community, which is a small scale compared to bigger business which are spread over
countries. Local business is usually in its own city or town. For an example a one-person
barber shop is an example of a local business as he or she will be only providing their service
to their customers nearby as they are only located in that community.
National
what makes a business national is that it sells their products and offers their service within
a particular nation. It is larger than a local business as there is more than one store and is
, locates only in that specific country selling their products or offering their service within that
country or nation.
International
what makes a business international is that it sells their products and offers their service
within few countries around the globe and has stores locates and be found around 2+
countries such as ‘APPLE’ who has 506 retail stores across 24 different countries.
Global
what makes a business international is that it sells their products and offers their service
and their business in more than a bunch of countries. Not only to global business have
stores locates in different countries and sell their stock and services they are well built,
which shows the company has a really good name as they are financially stable and are
known therefore the number of stores on a global scale across the world. An example of BT
operates around 180 countries, it owns and leases a range of buildings and facilities in the
UK and around the world
Noah
Noah is a local business, can only be located in Luton town which therefore part of the
community and does not have any other stores around the country. As it is a charity who
helps the needy and is a voluntary based job which has no intention to make profit, only to
support and offer their best services to help the community. Therefore, with minimum
revenue coming in they have 3-4 locations around Luton all offering great services and
helping the community, but they are not big and well-known to the public enough or have
much funds to open up more branches in nearby town, cities or even in other countries
which why it is a local business
Tesco
Tesco’s is an international business with about 7,000 stores worldwide over 13 different
countries. This is because they are located in 13 different countries across the globe with
thousands of stores in different cities. Countries such as Hungary, Poland, China, India and
Thailand. As it is international many people have known about the business which offers
thousands of employments across the globe therefore why so many people have heard
about the business as they offer their good and services and also employment for the public
to work in their departments stores or their warehouses ect.
Reason why it not being global because it is not located everywhere across the globe just
limited within 13 countries and not worldwide and does not reach to the other sides of the
world therefore it just being international
Sectors primary, secondary, tertiary
Primary
Businesses in the primary sector extracts the primary products from nature. E.g. Oranges
are grown on tress by orange farmers in tropical type climates.
Secondary
