The nervous system is made of 2 parts:
- Central nervous system: brain and spinal cord.
- Peripheral nervous system: all the other areas of your body.
Sensory receptors pick up stimuli/ create nerve impulses  impulses goes to
the peripheral system  transmits to the central nervous system  peripheral
picks signals from the central  transmits them to effectors creates a
response.

The brain is divided into 3 major parts




 Cerebrum: largest part of the brain. Thinking takes place and memories
are stored.
 Cerebellum: maintains balance. Coordinates your movements using
information from your eyes, ears, muscles and tendons.
 Brain stem: connects the brain to spinal cord. Controls automatic
functions; breathing, blood pressure and heartbeat.

The spinal cord connects the brain
with the peripheral nervous system.
It’s located in the bones of the spine.
