Introduction

Communicable disease refers to an infection spread from one individual to another via a

variety of methods that include breathing in an airborne virus and getting into contact with

contaminated blood and bodily fluids. Besides, it may be transmitted by an insect bite. It is also

an illness that results from an infection, presence, and development of pathogenic biological

agents in a person or other animal host. This paper discusses the notions of epidemiology and

nursing research on tuberculosis.

Tuberculosis Communicable Disease

An excellent example of infectious disease is tuberculosis. It is an infectious disease that

affects the lungs. The infection is contagious and may spread to other body parts like the spine

and brain. Moreover, it is caused by a bacterium that may be transmitted from one individual to

another person via contaminated droplets from TB infected persons.

Causes of tuberculosis

Tuberculosis (TB) is initiated by bacteria known as mycobacterium. The bacteria may be

spread by coughing and even talking with infected individuals since they may release the

bacteria into the surrounding air. Also, the infection may be spread from one person to another

by breathing in the contaminated air. For instance, a family member with active TB disease

living in the same house with other households may spread the infectious disease when speaking

or laughing.

Symptoms of TB

There are several signs of TB, including coughing, that last three or more weeks. In some
