Eiproductie
Eierstok:
 Begint bij één van de 3000 tot 4000 onbevruchte eicellen die de hen
heeft meegekregen bij haar geboorte.
 Als de hen geslachtsrijp is geworden, worden deze eicellen één voor
één rijp om zich binnen 7 tot 10 dagen te ontwikkelen tot de dooier.
 Als de dooier gevormd is vindt de ovulatie plaats.
o Zodra de volledige dooier is gevormd en de eicel zich daarin
heeft genesteld wordt de dooier losgelaten van de eierstok.
 De genestelde eicel met dooier bevindt zich nu aan het begin van de
trechtervormige opening van de eileider (infunndibulum).
 Hennen hebben maar één eierstok.

Eileider:
 Verplaats het ei/embryo naar baarmoeder
 Zorgt voor het eiwit
 Vind bevruchting plaats
 Door ronde vorm van eileider ontstaat ronde vorm van ei

Infundibulum:
 Is de trechtervormige opening van de eileider.
 Bij de eisprong komt de rijpe (geovuleerde) eicel
vrij uit de eierstok en komt terecht in de
infundibulum.
 Bevruchting (verblijfsduur is 15-30 min)

Magnum:
 Ter hoogte van het magnum wordt het ei voorzien
van eiwit (duur is 2-3 uur)

Isthmus:
 In het isthmus worden de twee dunne schaalmembranen tegen
elkaar afgezet en in de uterus wordt de harde
eierschaal met porieën aangemaakt
 Deze schaal bestaat voornamelijk uit calciumcarbonaat.
 Zo'n 24-28 uur na de bevruchting wordt het ei
gelegd. (duur is 2 – 3 uur)

Baarmoeder:
 Aanmaak van de schaal (duur 18 – 26)
 24 – 28 uur na de bevruchting wordt het ei gelegd.

Vagina:
 Opslag van sperma maar geen rol in aanmaken van het ei
