De menselijke cortex bestaat uit 4 kwabben. De pariëtaalkwab is met name essentieel voor
verwerking van tastinformatie en diverse ruimtelijke representaties ten behoeve van visueel-
gestuurde beweging en aandacht.

- De pariëtaalkwab ligt tussen de frontaalkwab en de occipitaalkwab in en boven de
temporaalkwab
- De pariëtaalkwab wordt afgebakend door de centrale fissura (voorkant), de laterale fissura
(onderkant), cingulate gyrus (bovenkant) en de parieto-occipital sulcus (achterkant)
