Parties of the case:
Chase and Bare was the defendant and plaintiff of this case. Chase was the writer,
director, producer and creator of many screenplays. He was also the writer of the famous
screenplay The Sopranos. Chase was the defendant of this case. In other hand the Bare was
famous prosecutor and he was the plaintiff of the case.
Facts of the case:
With the help of mutual friend chase and bare met many time before the release date of
the sopranos. In June 1995 the idea was shared by bare. The idea was fabulous and for the
implementation of this idea he request chase to write a script. In October 1995 bare conduct a
meeting with New Jersey Police department memory who had a wide experience by handling
criminal. Chase write a script and send to Bare after reading the draft both had a verbal or oral
agreement if payment (Adams, 2018, February 28). They both have verbally agreement that if
the screen show played and get a great audience then chased payed something for the services of
bare. But as per bare statement when the screenplay was succeeded the chase denied to pay to
Bare. After the bare sued chase, after the case the judgment was in the favor of chase and case
was dismissed by the court. Bare decide to appeal in higher court of U.S.
Procedure of the case:
In district court Bare filled a complaint against chase that he breaches the contract which
was implied in nature. In response of that complaint the chase said to the court that there were no
any material facts. Chase also tells the court that the implied control which was claiming by Bare
was vague and lacking to be enforced (Kostro, 2013, May 26). The district court written
judgment in the favor of chase and said that there was no material facts issue which were
