Thema 1: Inleiding in de biologie
B1: Wat is biologie?
- Organismen: planten, dieren, schimmels en bacteriën.
- Levensverschijnselen: voortplanten, groeien, ontwikkelen en stofwisseling.
- Stofwisseling: alle chemische reacties in een organisme.
- Enzymen (eiwitten) versnellen (katalyseren) de chemische reacties van
stofwisselingsprocessen.
- Levensloop: de groei en ontwikkeling van een individu. De levensloop stopt als het
individu dood is.
- Levenscyclus: de levensloop van een soort. Deze cyclus stopt pas als het soort is
uitgestorven.
- Biologische eenheden (organisatieniveaus):
1. Molecuul: DNA
2. Cel: beencel
3. Orgaan: bot
4. Orgaanstelsel: bottenstelsel
5. Organisme: konijn
6. Populatie: konijnen
7. Ecosysteem: bos
8. Biosfeer: aarde
- Emergente eigenschap: als er op een hoger organisatieniveau een nieuwe eigenschap
ontstaat die er op het lagere organisatieniveau niet is.
B2: Organen, weefsels en cellen
- Weefsel: een groep cellen met dezelfde vorm en functie.
- Tussen de vorm en de functie van biologische eenheden kun je verbanden zien.
Bijvoorbeeld vissen met een stroomlijnvorm, zodat ze weinig weerstand in het water
ondervinden. (vorm: stroomlijnvorm, functie: weinig weerstand)
B3: Plantaardige en dierlijke cellen
- Organel: een deel van een cel met een eigen functie.
- Een plantaardige cel heeft drie organellen die de dierlijke cel niet heeft:
Een celwand, een vacuole en plastiden (bladgroenkorrels).
B4: Celorganellen
- Kernporiën: openingen in het kernmembraan waardoor transport van stoffen in en
uit het kernplasma mogelijk is.
- Endoplasmatisch reticulum: een uitgebreid netwerk van dubbele membranen dat is
aangesloten op het kernmembraan. (ruw: met ribosomen, glad: geen ribosomen)
- Exocytose: het afsnoeren van blaasjes door het celmembraan om stoffen naar buiten
de cel te transporteren.
