Hand hygiene is one of the recommended procedures for improving or maintaining
healthcare in the classroom and at home. The teaching plan that was developed, was developed to

starting to develop curiosity of themselves and others, they want to be close to their friends and
family, it is important that they recognize one way to stop the spread of germs. With COVID-19
numbers on the rise, and children going back to school, having the children realize that their
handwashing can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 is also important. The teaching plan
address when and how the children should wash their hands and the benefits of washing hands
with soap and water, and also alcohol-based sanitizers, show the proper techniques and the
critical times that hand washing should be done (Kingston, et al. 2016).
Most people believe that handwashing should be done only after using the restroom.
Germs and bacteria, on the other hand, can be found on a variety of surfaces. As a result, the
teaching plan aims to instill the importance of hand hygiene throughout the children’s daily lives.

one of every 25 hospital patients have at least one infection-related health condition. “It is
estimated that washing your hands with soap and water could reduce diarrheal disease associated
deaths by 50%” (CDC, 2018). Not only does hand washing with soap and water reduce the
diarrheal episodes but it also reduced the rate of respiratory infections by 16% (CDC, 2018).
“The use of an alcohol gel hand sanitizer in the classroom provided an overall reduction in
absenteeism due to infection by 19.8% among 16 elementary schools and 6,000 students (CDC,
2018).
The epidemiological rationale of hand hygiene in school aged children is because they
don’t realize that they are spreading germs when they are. They are continuing to spread germs
and not realize when they don’t use proper hand hygiene. As a result, children that are school-
aged are more prone to infections such as upper respiratory infections, ear infections and any
other disease, especially now spreading COVID-19.
Evaluation of Teaching Experience
The teaching experience should be evaluated in three stages: during the planning phase,
during implementation and at the accountability stage. The first step would be to choose suitable
indicators that would be useful in assessing the teaching experience’s outcomes. Reduced cases
of respiratory infections and diarrhea among the population would be an important indicator in
