It would not be an understatement to say that the success of a business counts on a trio
of important principles. The trio I am referring to would be that of project management, human
resources, and operations management. Although they each focus on different aspects of
business, they still tend to rely on each other for a level of support. As I discuss each of these
principles in this assignment, it will give a great deal of insight as to why each of these are
unique and how they also relate to one another to promote effectiveness and productivity.
I will begin by discussing project management and how it has a critical impact on
competence and influence on an organization as a whole. The Project Management Institute
(PMI) is considered to be the world’s leading non-profit professional membership association for
the project, program, and portfolio management profession (PMI Core Values, 2015). The PMI
have a rather unique set of core values that many stakeholders use as a guide to influence how
they operate. The stakeholders have a commitment to abide by the most professional and ethical
mannerisms that are deemed necessary to conduct their way of life. They do this by volunteering
within the project management community to bridge any gaps amongst member so that goals
and tasks can be easily accomplished. It helps to facilitate a level of growth within the global
project management profession. Having an organization that is engaged in diversity, abiding by
the unique set of core values I previously spoke about, and engaging in the project management
profession as a whole will promote a high level of success within the organization.
