NUCLEAR FAMILYA nuclear family consists of two heterosexual parents and their dependent children who live in the
same home. Other relatives who live in nuclear families but not in the same household are likely to
have some association with a nuclear family. Nuclear families are seen as separate, self-sufficient
groups, despite having family ties to other relatives. This is not to say that the parents in a nuclear
family will always be the primary caregivers for their children. Childminders, grandparents, or other
child care providers are used by certain nuclear families to look after their children during working
hours, for example. An example of nuclear family are celebrities for example, John Francis Bongiovi
Jr and Dorothea Hurley. They both have children that are their own so they are a nuclear family. This
will have an impact on their health and well-being. For example, when the children have both
parents who care about and enjoy them, they would be able to go out together as a family, such as
to the movies or on holiday. This is positive because it means that you are physically active because
you operate with your family.
Another influence is income. Because both parents work it means they can provide money for their
family to make sure they are financially secure, this will affect their emotional development because
they will feel happier that they are able to meet the needs of their children. However there are
some negative effects of nuclear family. For example because both parents work it means they will
be more focused on work and might spend more time on work then on their children. Emotionally,
the children will feel isolated because they do not have time to bond with their parents, as their
parents have to go to work. This could also affect them physically, as stress may cause them to lose
weight, due to insufficient love from their parents and may cause them to loose.
EXTENDED FAMILIES
Extended families are nuclear families with grandparents or other relatives living in the same house
as them, all belonging to the same family unit. In the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries,
extended families were much more popular in the United Kingdom. Despite this, extended families
can still be found in the UK, especially among South Asian, Chinese, and other minority ethnic
groups. Extended families have an impact on health and wellbeing. For example, the TV programme,
family reunion. The grandparents eat healthy meals and make fruits available in the home.
Physically, this would impact their grandchildren positively, as they would join their grandparents to
eat what has been provided for everyone to eat. Emotionally, living in an extended family allows
family members to spend their spare time together, talk about feelings, and study each other's daily
activities. For example, the grandchildren in the television show Family Reunion had no idea who
their grandparents were, and living with them helped them get to know each other better.
Intellectually, everyone can gain new knowledge, share ideas and games that need critical thinking
like chess, cards, and puzzles. However, it can be difficult and stressful for family relationships,
particularly if the family is having trouble getting along. Living together in a home with a layout that
provides each family member with much-needed privacy, space, and comfort is one of the best ways
to avoid any possible conflict.
RECONSTITUTED FAMILIES
Reconstituted families are also referred to as combined, reconstructed, or step-families. The concept
