Echographie is een medisch apparaat dat gebruik maakt van geluidsgolven en de
terugkaatsing ervan. De baby kaatst de geluidsgolven terug en de transducer vangt ze op.
Hoe langer het geluid erover doet om terug te keren, hoe groter de afstand.
MRI apparaat maakt gebruik van elektromagnetische golven. Waterstofkernen hebben een
magnetische eigenschap en zenden dus elektromagnetische straling uit.
Magnetische veld → kleine kern → (minder energie)
Magnetische veld → grote kern ← (meer energie)
resonantiefrequentie → kern gaat van dezelfde richting van magnetisch veld naar
tegengestelde richting en neemt daarbij een foton op
gradiëntspoelen zijn extra spoelen die de fotonfrequentie van plaatselijke magnetische
velden meten

Bij het maken van een röntgenfoto wordt gebruik gemaakt van röntgenstraling.
Donker → straling is doorgelaten → hoge intensiteit
Licht → straling geabsorbeerd → lage intensiteit
de halveringsdikte is hoe dik een materiaal moet zijn om de helft van de röntgenstraling
tegen te houden
de beginintensiteit is 100%
I = I0 * 0.5d/d0.5
I = intensiteit die wordt doorgelaten door het materiaal in W/m2 of in %
I0 = intensiteit die op het materiaal valt in W/m² of in %
d = de dikte van het materiaal in m
d0.5= de halveringsdikte van het materiaal in m
