Beginner: The individual has just begun and  Nets
practice basic techniques and movements. An  Badminton posts
example in relation to badminton is the  Soft balls
individual using a basic hit when the shuttlecock  Timer
has been passed to their side of the court.

Experienced: Highly skilled and well-rounded
player. For example, being able to easily perform
the smash shot. The smash shot is an attacking
shot.
Overall aims/target: Environment:
The purpose of the session is to introduce; Sports hall/ large indoor space
 Different serves.
 Interpret different playing badminton styles.
 Demonstrate a relaxed reach when striking the
shuttle.
 Show the use of alternative hits in a predictable
situation.



Phase/ Time Description
Beginning cool down Activity:
(1 minute) The cool down to completed on the side-lines as it enables for the equipment's to be
properly set up.

This phase is to ease the players of the stress or tiredness gained from the previous session.
This is beneficial as the body returns to its normal temperature and the heart rate
decrease, allowing them to perform to the highest of their ability in the badminton session.

Main teaching points:
The main teaching points to participates is to be enlightened about the benefits a cool
down has on the body as there is a gradual reduction in intensity.

Variations:
Higher: Perform cool down stretches.

Lower: Sit in a stagnant position to be eased of tiredness.

Safety:
The participants have fully cooled down before beginning my session to decrease injuries
such as muscle cramps.

Stretching Activity:
(2 minutes) Active stretching: players begin with active stretching as it complements the badminton
session. It is performed when the participant holds a position and hold it with no help

, other than personal strength from their agonist muscles. An example, bringing the leg up
and holding it there.
Passive stretching; players assume a position and hold it with some other part of their
body. For example, bringing your leg up high and the holding it with your hand.

Main teaching points:
The main teaching points of stretching is the ability to positively influence the
performance of a participant.

Variations:
Higher: Active stretching- prolonging the time of each stretch exercise.
Passive stretching- alternate between supporting the leg with both hands.

Lower: Active stretching- having timed rest periods where participants can drop the
raised-up leg.
Passive stretching- bringing your leg up and supporting it with both hands.

Safety:
Keep the participants well-spaced apart during stretching.
Show correct stretching techniques.

Transition Participants gather in the centre for instruction and pick up their equipment(s).

Warm-up Activity:
(6 minutes) The warm-up is a combination of different ball passes that will be completed during the
main and mini game.

Instructions:
 On go, I will assign the participants into 7 groups of 2- they position themselves
onto the mid court line and the three-point line if played in the sports hall or an
equally spaced-out space if played in an indoor court. Start rally with any kind of
serve or toss.
 Keep rally going onto the participants are observed to be playing to a satisfactory
rate.
 Transition onto the following serves and tosses.


1. Chest pass: -Participants pass the ball from their chest area using both hands.
-Aim for their partner’s chest.
-Pass between the two.

This can be improved or toughened when the distance of the participants is increased with
every pass between them.

2. Push pass: -They push the ball with one hand towards their teammate’s chest area
or shooting pocket.
-They use their hand farthest from their teammate to pass the
ball. This is typically the right hand when passing right and left hand when passing
left.

3. Bounce pass: -They bounce the ball with strength, so that the ball bounces off the
floor to the chest height of their teammate.

4. Overhead pass: -They raise the ball above their head.
-They use both hands to make a hard, accurate throw to their
teammate across the court.
-They aim for their teammate’s chest, head or above their head,
