WAT IS HEMELVAART?
Veertig dagen na het paasfeest is het Hemelvaartsdag. Pasen
begint altijd op een zondag en omdat de periode tussen Pasen en
Hemelvaart altijd precies veertig dagen is, valt Hemelvaartsdag
altijd op een donderdag. Wel kan de datum steeds weer anders
zijn, de datum van Pasen is namelijk ook steeds anders. Dit heeft
te maken met het "kerkelijk jaar" (ook wel liturgisch jaar
genoemd) wat niet helemaal gelijk loopt met het zogenaamde
kalenderjaar. De indeling van het kerkelijk jaar heeft te maken
met bepaalde kringen rond de grotere feestdagen, denk ook
Kerstmis bijvoorbeeld.
