Reflection on Clifton Strengths
Ideation
I find it interesting that ideation is my most dominant theme of talent. However, I do find
myself being fascinated by ideas and always looking for connections. This is true in my personal
and professional life as I am the one who always asks "why" and seeking clarity in an attempt to
understand the big picture. I recently accepted a new company's business development position
and was surprised to learn the current marketing strategy was uncreative and merely boring. My
natural response was to ask “why” and then offered 15-20 new campaign ideas for the market. I
have often been told that I think about things differently than most, and I agree. I must see below
the surface of matters and take pride in the creative approach.
Adaptability
I take pride in the ability to live in the moment while remaining flexible enough to handle
the good and bad, planned, or unexpected life surprises. I have always considered this to be
more of my nature than a signature theme. However, this assessment has shown me that this
natural ability is a talent. My medical sales and marketing experience taught me the importance
of adaptability as it relates to building strong, long-term relationships within the market.
