STALIN STATS GUIDE
• 1923- Stalin appointed approximately 30% of the party delegates- this increased per
year= more control for Stalin
• The fall Of the NEP in 1927 was due to slow increase in grain production. Remained
• at 73million tonnes in 1925 and 1928.
• 1924=13th Party Congress where the triumvirate defended the NEP against Trotsky's
• left wing alternative of rapid industrialisation= high taxes on peasants.
• 1925=14th party congress where the triumvirate wanted socialism in one country-
• where Trotsky, Zinoviev, Kamenev lost with a permanent revolution idea.
• 1928-29= Stalin abandoned NEP and supported left wing policies, whilst Bukharin
• was committed to NEP= Failing.
• 1928= Bukharin's medical. 1924= Lenin's funeral wrong date.
Sect 2:
• Fall in production 1926/7= grain procurement crisis. Steel was 4.0millions of tonnes in 1913
and 1928.
Collectivisation
• 1928= Introduced rationing and requisitioning
• 1929- Dekulakisation- compulsory collectivisation. Kulaks exiled by Red army and NKVD.
• 1929- Twenty-Five Thousanders- 27,000 volunteers sent to countryside to help
dekulakisation
• 1941- All farms in Russia were collectivised.
Famine= 1932
• 10million sheep and goats destroyed. 18million horses- by peasants in anger at
collectivisation
• 10million people starved to death.
• Dekulakisation= exile of 10miIIion peasants. 10% peasants in a single village were exiled.
