Anatomie
Lever is onderverdeeld in een grotere rechter leverkwab en een kleinere linker leverkwab.
De klassieke indeling maakt geen gebruik van bloedvaten en galwegen
Ligamentum falciforme
- Een Vouw van het peritoneum (vlies) dat de lever verbindt met de ventrale buikwand.
- Verdeelt de lever aan de oppervlakte in een linker- en rechterleverkwab.
Ligamentum teres
- Verloopt caudaal in het ligamentum falciforme.

o Ligt mediaal van de galblaas en lateraal van het ligamentum teres
