- Terrorism has shifted from land to seas too
- Maritime terrorism easy to commit due to lack of security out at sea
- First incident of maritime terrorism brought to worlds attention was high jacking of cruise
liner by Palestinian terrorists in 1985. Took place in Egyptian waters
- October 2000 – US attack
- February 2004 – Philippian attack

other crime and with the apparent intent or capability to use force in furtherance of that act”
