Introduction:

The ceremony I have attended is called a “White Wedding”
Months prior to the ceremony, the man must first ask the lady’s parents for her hand
in marriage, once the family approves the man will propose, once the lady accepts the
proposal she will start planning her dream wedding that she has dreamt about since
she was a little girl. The couple will start looking at wedding venues, caterers, wedding
dress and suits, wedding cakes, photographers etc. and also plan the all-important
honeymoon.
A few weeks before the wedding the bride’s maids and maid of honour will plan a hen
party/bachelorette for the bride and the groomsmen will plan a bachelor’s party for the
groom, these celebrations are to celebrate the ending of being single and getting
married. Normally the bride will also have a party called a kitchen tea wherein guests
bring her household items such as pots, glasses, cutlery etc. to use in her new house
with her husband.
A few nights before the wedding, the family members and friends of the bride and
groom come together to do a rehearsal at the venue and practice how they will walk
down the aisle, and after the rehearsal the family and friends will normally have a
dinner together before the wedding day and to allow the bride and groom a last chance
to see each other before the wedding day.
The significance of this is to firstly get the blessing from the parents for the man to
propose, once this happens it allows each party to celebrate their last night being
single before they get married at their respective bachelor and bachelorette parties.
After these celebrations all family members and friends come together to celebrate the
union of the couple the night before the wedding at the rehearsal. This as a whole is
just the process of bringing family and friends together who might have been in another
country or who hasn’t seen one another for a long time and also celebrating the
beautiful union of two people who found true love.

Body:
The ceremony starts with both the bride and groom getting ready in separate rooms
with their respective wedding parties, once the groom is ready he will walk down the
aisle and wait for his bride, family members and friends will start arriving and sitting
down. Once the Bridal party is ready and the guests are seated, the bridesmaids will
walk down the aisle with the groomsmen and stand at the alter and wait for the bride.
The flower girl and ring bearer will then walk down the aisle. The bride will then come
down the aisle holding her dads arm or a chosen man in the family to walk her down
and give her away, when the bride and her father reach the end of the aisle the pastor
will ask the father “who will be giving this bride away” to which the father will answer
“me”. The pastor will request the bride and groom to hold hands whilst they read their
