deze in tweehonderd jaar tijd veranderd?
Het was een plattelandssamenleving. De meeste mensen woonde op het
platteland en levende van de landbouw. 200 honderd jaar later is dit totaal
veranderd. 90% van de bevolking woont tegenwoordig in stedelijke
gebieden.
10 Wat was de oorzaak van de toenemende verstedelijking in Groot-
Brittannië?
Het begon met de uitvinding van de stoommachine. Rondom de mijnen
werden fabrieken gewoond. Hierdoor kwamen boeren van het platteland in
de stad werken en wonen.
11 Noem een aantal belangrijke industriesteden en de industrie die hier
gevestigd was.
Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield en Liverpool groeide uit tot
grote steden. De staal- en textielindustrie, machinebouw en scheepsbouw

Urbanisatiegraad is het percentage van de bevolking dat in de stad woont
en het urbanisatietempo is de snelheid waarmee urbanisatiegraad per jaar

tussen arme en rijke landen?
Urbanisatie tempo van arme landen ligt lager dan in rijke landen.
Urbanisatiegraad is hoger in rijkere landen dan in arme landen,
bijvoorbeeld urbanisatiegraad in GB 90%. Ter vergelijk: urbanisatiegraad in
India in 2015, met de verwachting van 40% in 2030.
