ANATOMIE VAN HET BREIN

Thalamus = Schakelcentrum die prikkels filtert op relevantie en doorstuurt naar
de cortex.
Hypothalamus = Regelcentrum voor de balans tussen het sympatische en
parasympatische ZS.
Hypofyse = Regelt de uitscheiding van hormoonproducerende klieren onder
invloed van de hypothalamus.

Middenhersenen = Regelcentrum voor de sensorische en motorische functies.
Pons = Brug die sensorische informatie van de cortex naar de kleine hersenen
stuurt en is betrokken bij de regulatie van ademhaling, smaak en slaap.
Medulla oblongata = Verlengde merg die motorische informatie doorstuurt van
het brein naar de lichaamsdelen en is betrokken bij de hartslag-, ademhalings-,
spijsvertering- en bloeddrukregulatie.

Formatio reticularis = Complexe structuur over de gehele lengte van de
hersenen die belangrijk is voor de arousal en het slaap-waakritme.

Cerebellum/kleine hersenen = Controlecentrum voor verfijnde motoriek door
continu motorische programma’s bij te sturen.




Basale ganglia = Groep hersenkernen rondom de thalamus die een rol speelt in
de automatische en emotionele motoriek. De precieze rol is nog onduidelijk.

Cortex cerebri = Buitenste laag van de grote hersenen van 6 cellagen dik en die
zorgt voor bewuste processen. Bestaat uit een motorische en sensorische cortex.

Somiet = Embryonaal oersegment die later de wervelkolom, de ribben, deel van
de huid en rugspieren vormt.
Neurale buis = Embryonale structuur die het ruggenmerg vormt.

Annulus fibrosus = Schuin georiënteerde lamellen van collageen
type I en fibreus kraakbeen.
Nucleus pulposus = Veel water en door druk op de wervelkolom
worde voedingsstoffen via bloedvaten in de eindplaat uitgewisseld.
