Een monetaire kringloop is een vereenvoudigde weergave van de belangrijkste geldstromen in
een economie. In dit economische model kijken we dus naar de geldstromen van 5 sectoren:
● gezinnen/consumenten
● bedrijven
● overheid
● buitenland
● financiële instellingen
Voor elke sector geldt: geld dat ‘binnenstroomt’ = geld dat ‘uitstroomt’
Betekenissen letters
Y = (netto) nationaal inkomen
C = consumptie
S = besparingen
B = belastingen
O = overheidsbestedingen
I = investeringen
E = export
M = import
Financiëringssaldo overheid / begrotingssaldo = (B-O)
Wanneer de overheid geld tekort komt, moet de overheid geld lenen via de financiële instellingen.
Saldo lopende rekening / uitvoersaldo = (E-M)
Wanneer wij meer exporteren dan importeren dan moet het buitenland ons meer betalen dan ze
ontvangen. Zij hebben een tekort op de lopende rekening. Daardoor moet het buitenland bij ons
(via de financiële instellingen) geld lenen.
Particulier spaarsaldo = (S-I)
Nationaal spaarsaldo = (B-O) + (S-I)
