1. Inleiding
• Structuur:
o epidermis: opperhuid
▪ verhoornend, meerlagig, plaveiselepitheel
▪ ectodermale afkomst
o dermis: lederhuid
▪ bindweefsel
▪ mesodermale afkomst
▪ door hypodermis (onderhuids bindweefsel/subcutis) met
onderliggende weefsels verbonden, bevat panniculus adiposus
(vetlaag)
o epidermis + dermis = cutis
o golvende grens tussen epidermis en dermis door bindweefselpapillen van
dermis; tussenliggende uitstulpingen van epidermis = epidermiskammen
=> dikke huid: patroon met hoge kammen & papillen <> dunne huid
=>huidlijsten
• Functies:
o bescherming van onderliggende weefsels (<> uitdroging, infecties)
o regeling lichaamstemp.
o opvangen van signalen uit omgeving (pijn & tast)
o excretie van zweet en talg
o aanpassing aan grote vormveranderingen (bv. zwangerschap)
o absorptie van ultraviolette straling van zonlicht (synthese vitamine D)
2. Epidermis
4 celpopulaties:
• keratinocyten=> vormen 5 lagen
• melanocyten
• Cellen van Langerhans
• cellen van Merkel

1) Keratinocyten
=> constante vernieuwing van cellen van epidermis: mitotische activiteit in onderste
laag: stratum basale (basale cellen) dochtercellen duwen bovenliggende lagen
keratinocyten naar opp.
=> geleidelijke verandering in vorm en functie van keratinocyten
=> verschillende lagen in epidermis
=>vorming (cyto)keratinefilamenten of tonofilamenten

• stratum basale (germinativum)
o Kubisch tot cilindervormige cellen
o Verbonden door desmosomen met volgende laag en door hemidesmosomen
met lamina basalis
o vrij grote kernen
o Kleine Golgi-complex
o weinig RER
o weinig mitochondriën
o Veel vrije ribosomen
o cytoplasma met keratinefilamenten voor verbinding desmosomen&
hemidesmosomen
• stratum spinosum
o stekelvormige, polygonale cellen
o Dikste laag
o ~basale cellen, meer keratinefilamenten > desmosomen
o Cytoplasmatische uitlopers van 2 aangrenzende cellen: desmosomen
o (trekvast geheel)
• Stratum granulosum
o 2-5 lagen van platter wordende cellen
o basofiele, keratohyaliene granula zonder membraan (= verdwenen aan
bovengrens)
o eivormige tot langgerekte korrels, opgebouwd uit lamellair gestapelde
lipidemembranen: lamellar (membrane-coating) granules
• stratum lucidum
o dunne, heldere laag van afgeplatte cellen
o Dicht opeengepakte keratinefilamenten
o desmosomen, houden cellen bij elkaar
• stratum corneum
o 10–15 lagen afgeplatte cellen
o GEEN kern of organellen
o veel keratinefilamenten (dicht opeen)
o cellen samengehouden door lipiden + rest van desmosomen
o Dikte v/d huid kan plaatselijk verschillen:
▪ dunne huid
• dun stratum corneum
• GEEN stratum lucidum
• haren, nagels, zweet- & talgklieren
▪ dikke huid (5 lagen)
• GEEN haren, nagels, apocriene zweet- & talgklierer
2) Melanocyten
• gelegen in het stratum basale
• Structuur:
o lange uitlopers, tussen keratinocyten
o RER & Golgi-complex
o (melaninekorrels dicht bij kern)
