Bij hoge druk is er geen bewolking, bij lage druk en bij fronten wel.
Hogedrukgebied: Lagedrukgebied:
- lucht daalt - lucht stijgt
- temperatuur van de lucht stijgt - temperatuur van de lucht daalt
- relatieve vochtigheid daalt - relatieve vochtigheid stijgt
- bewolking lost op - bewolking neemt toe
Hoge druk staat dus voor zonnig weer. OPGELET: de temperatuur zal hier in de zomer hoog
opklimmen, maar in de winter zal het sterk afkoelen.
Als er geen wolken zijn = veel afkoeling ’s nachts wel opwarming overdag, in de winter
ijskoud want er is geen dekentje rond de aarde.
Botsing
België ligt in een regio waar het weer vaak wisselvallig is omwille van de botsing van twee
grote luchtmassa’s.
- koude polaire lucht en warme tropische lucht. → koude en warme lucht mengen niet.
Fronten
Een front is een plaats waar warme en koude lucht met elkaar botsen.

Een frontale depressie beweegt gelijktijdig op twee manieren:
