Year Assignment 11. The report on the art exhibition
On Thursday the 24th of October, when I was in Paris with my school, I saw the
'Degas à l'Opera' exhibition. This performance of impressive art took place in
Musée d'Orsay, which is of course also in Paris. We visited the museum in class.
When we were allowed to walk around freely, I went to this exhibition with some
friends. This was around 11 a.m.
I chose this exhibition because I did not know this artist well. In the classroom
we saw that he is a well-known impressionist, so his works must be worthwhile.
Of course, it was also easy to visit this as we were in the museum with the
school. In the end I found it impressive and I am happy that I visited this
exhibition. It was also what I expected.
As I just wrote, I didn't know the artist very well. We already heard from him in
class during Impressionism, but I wasn't sure what his art would look like. But I
can say that he has pleasantly surprised me.
Short biography:
Edgar Degas was a French impressionist. He made famous
paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings. He was born the
18th of July 1834 in Paris and he died at the age of 83 on the 27th
of September 1917 in Paris as well.
This French artist usually illustrated something with the subject of dance.
