- Paragraaf 7.1 soorten straling
Elektromagnetische golven = ontstaat door elektronen die met hoge snelheid op en
neer bewegen, in de vorm van golven.
 De soort straling is afhankelijk van de golflengte
 De snelheid van de straling is gelijk aan de lichtsnelheid
Als elektromagnetische straling op een voorwerp valt
 Doorlaten (transmissie) = gaat erdoorheen
 Reflectie = wordt gereflecteerd
 Absorptie = wordt opgenomen


- Paragraaf 7.2 ioniserende straling
Onderdelen atoom
 Protonen (kern) = zijn positief geladen
Massa = 1
Lading = 1
Aantal is gelijk aan atoomnummer
 Neutronen (kern) = zijn niet geladen, neutraal
Massa = 1
Lading = 0
Aantal is massagetal – aantal protonen
 Elektronen (om de kern) = zijn negatief geladen, deze lading is net zo groot
als de lading van protonen, alleen dan negatief
Massa = 0
Lading = -1
Aantal is gelijk aan hoeveelheid protonen als het om een neutraal atoom gaat


Ioniserende straling = straling die atomen kan ioniseren, uit elkaar laten vallen
Isotoop = zelfde stofnamen met een ander aantal protonen en neutronen


Stabiel of onstabiel
Wanneer een atoom onstabiel is, is het radioactief, er worden dan deeltjes uit de
kern gestraald. Hierdoor veranderd de atoomsoort: een radioactief verval
