Disaster Recovery teams’ roles and responsibilities
The DR team roles that we are going to use are DRP manager, executive management,
crisis management coordinator, business continuity expert, impact assessment and recovery
team, IT applications monitor, and critical business unit advisor. The DRP manager oversees
every aspect of the plan. Executive management job is to create a budget, policy, create a
planned strategy, and to create processes and procedures for obstacles. Perry stated, “The major
responsibility of the (DRT) is to spearhead all recovery procedures in a disaster. The team, under
instruction from the superintendent, would issue immediate directives to secure the building,
notify proper authorities, and evaluate the situation. The team, headed by the coordinator, would
be involved in all phases of recovery.” (Perry, 1, p. 1). The author explains how a DRT team is
supposed to work together in any situation. There are processes and procedures they must follow
in case of a disaster. The team is to work together for the end purpose of defending against a
threat or disaster. Crisis management coordinator job is to go over the recovery plans with the
team, problem resolutions, deal with issues that delay the management process, be involved from
start to finish of the recovery. Business continuity experts’ jobs are to align the strategy plan, and
make sure the business continuity plan is up to date. Impact assessment and recovery team jobs
are to make sure the network infrastructure is familiar with different disaster attacks, server reps
need to know the server and OS infrastructure In and out, replication and data protection should
be perfected, databases should keep data from being leaked. IT applications monitor jobs are to
check data consistency, apply applications integrations, and configure app settings. The critical
business unit advisors’ job is to enhance the proficiency of the jobs of everybody else.
