Treating Animals Humanely
Do you have pets? Do you know how to properly treat them? Are you absolutely certain
of that? Animals need love and compassion just like humans do. Treating animals humanely is
important to me because it has taught me how to treat people, the animal will be more likely to
behave, and my goal in life is to open a pet store.
Treating animals humanely is an excellent way to learn how to treat people. I've grown
up with always being around animals. My grandparents owned a farm since before I was born up
until about fifteen years ago. My mother also always owned at least one dog and one cat,
occasionally had fish, and my brother got a snake when he was twelve years old. I've been
around all kinds of animals and have learned what their body language means. This has, in turn,
taught me to look for similar signs of body language in people. For instance, if an animal and a
person are in an uncomfortable situation, they will both usually fidget and constantly move until
they can be removed from that situation. I have so many more examples of how body language
in animals can be translated into body language in people. Learning body language can help
learn what I can and cannot do around both people and animals. If they do not like it, do not do
it.
Treating animals humanely is the best way to get an animal to behave. My dog, Bear,
came from an abusive household. The first time I saw him, he had run away from his home and
ended up in front of my mother's house. My mother and I started cooing at him to get him to
come to us so he didn't get hit by a vehicle. Bear immediately came over to us and was wagging
his tail. We did the responsible thing and posted pictures of him on Facebook asking if anyone
knew where his home was. His female owner came forward and my mom took Bear to his home.
Over the next several weeks, Bear escaped a couple more times and came straight to my mother's
