ACME Manufacturing has requested a hydrostatics and hydraulics report to show the
piping and repairs needed to show the pressure and velocity of fluids which presently exist in the
tank. This will help ACME to head any loss in their fire suppression system. It is imperative that
both the piping and tank receive repairs as they need such. The plans to make these repairs is for
one moth from today. This will consist of major repairs and temporary amends will be made until
the major repairs can be conducted. During the repairs, an evaluation of the fire suppression
systems must take place to be sure that there are no damages or failures in the equipment.
ACME has also commissioned the help of BSCI to assist in the reports, by looking into
various types of industrial storage facilities. BSCI will evaluate both the facilities and the fire
systems for any calculations conclusions and any recommendations that they may have. We will
start with the piping systems repairs first. The provided notes show that a vertical system needs
repairs. This piping is 18 inches in diameter and about 60 feet long on a vertical run with an
elbowing pipe at the horizontal section. Repairs should be made at 35ft. from the floor. This
repair must be made while the process is operational, and contents are non-hazardous. The
similar properties in the water, create pressure in the piping and must be considered while
making repairs. All calculations will be in Appendix A., to show that repairs will take place as
psi. Employees that operate the processes have given detailed information on the major repairs,
and the primary equipment needed to feed the system in less than a month.
