My Chosen Career Path Unit I
Growing up as a child I have always enjoyed helping others. I have decided that I want to
become exposed to become a child welfare caseworker. As a social worker I would enjoy
working with kids, families inside of their homes, schools, social service agencies, and
residential care facilities. As a child welfare caseworker I will hold responsibilities such as
monitoring a child’s progress not only within their home but also within their school. One of the
most important aspects of my future career will be to make sure that each one of my clients are
about to live in a safe and healthy environment and that the families are able to obtain any social
services when needed. Having excellent customer service skills so that I will be able to support
each client effectively.
Some of the entry-level positions within this field can be granted with a bachelor’s degree
in the study of social work, psychology or sociology. Majority of the positions will require for
me to obtain my master’s degree which is my long-term goal for now. Some states do require
licensing and I will also have to pass an examination as well as work within the field while under
supervision before I am able to obtain my licenses.

study of social psychology are Wilhelm Wundt and Sigmund Freud. By 1908 the first social
