Definition
Root canal
Specialties of dentistry that manages the prevention, diagnosis, &
treatment of the dental pulp and periradicular tissues surrounding the
root of the tooth. Endodontic procedures include diagnosis, root canal
treatment and periapical surgery

If pulp becomes damage through injury or disease and cannot repair
itself, bacteria and their products can leak into the pulp > cause to die.
If the root canal cannot be performed, an abscess can form at the apex
and cause considerable pain. If there is no pain, the bone may recede.
