create, learn, and do new things. This concept is one that Lewis Thomas states in The Medusa
and the Snail. In this passage, Thomas discusses the different ways that we must first fail in order
to succeed and the importance of this occurrence. I agree with his point of view and that in order
for us to prosper as a society and species, we must fail and learn from a variety of tasks and
challenges.
