PRM 300 Introduction to Project Management
Introduction
Project management and the values of understanding the variables of purposefully rendering
usefulness from incorporating mindful attributes can be articulated to form the production of
purposeful many and change for many businesses in a growing and thriving business world. The
upsides to changing environments and challenging the company's integrity through varying
forms of simulations and undertakings in such nature are to take the road less traveled to find
something necessary to pursue worthy of investment. "A project is a temporary endeavor
undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result. Operations, on the other hand, is work
done in organizations to sustain the business. Projects are different from operations in that they
end when their objectives have been reached, or the project has been terminated." (Schwalbe.,
2017). There are five groups in project management essential to be aware of, and the first is the
Initiating group. The group that initiates typically provisions the approval of the project and the
parts along with the consents necessary to ensure the project continues without stopping. The
second group is Planning, as this group necessitates proposals to hash the initial layout predicted
to convene the budget. Planning also includes scheduling and organizational necessities that
construct the design.
Thirdly, Executing is the next group where the main goal is to be correlating the plans to produce
the fundamentals to bring the project to life. The breath of the project would rely upon whomever

growth and off-track runaways from the set goal. These metrics keep efficiency and maintain
productivity to make the set date. Lastly, the Closing group confirms that the project can
effectively and carefully come to a tailored close, certifying any loose ends. The processes
usually involve contract closures, and verification of all computers-based training procedures are
underway. Above everything noted in project management, each project is unique, requiring
creativity and dedication before undertaking the task.
Strategic Planning
Planning before the project and during the project are specific ways to eliminate downtime and
schedule ahead for uncertainties in a project that may elude the team during intensive periods.
"Strategic planning involves determining long-term objectives by analyzing the strengths and
weaknesses of an organization, studying opportunities and threats in the business environment,
predicting future trends, and projecting the need for new products and services"(Schwalbe.,
2017). A perfect way to develop a successful plan is by creating a SWOT (Strengths,
Weaknesses, Opportunities, & Threats) analysis to analyze the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats that may be encountered during and before the creation of a project. A
SWOT is also helpful in determining whether the project is a good fit for the company and
budget guidelines. For creative minds, a solution for intimidating gatherings or free-thinking
individuals would be utilizing the SWOT analysis practice while combining the instrument of
mind-mapping to simulate ideas that would be beneficial and contribute to the company's
mission. The purpose is to coordinate the accumulation of thoughts to organization and structure,
providing the map idea and paving a more straightforward path to concept and ideology. The
elements involved in project planning phases can take a traditional approach or an agile approach
