My Reflection
Working in the simulation lab gave me more knowledges in this nursing field. I
participated in the simulation activities including prebriefed, de-briefed, immersion on a 26-
year- old woman, D. Shetty who presents to the ED complaining of intermittent vomiting and
Alyssa Thomas a 23 year old (pre-eclampsia) that I learned some nursing considerations
when administering Pitocin to a client during labor induction, obtain key labs and
physical/psychocial assessment information that is needed to provide the best care for a
patients and some non- pharmacologic methods of providing pain relief to a client.
Summarize the keys learnings during this session and how to assess and manage patients
with preeclampsia and post-partum hemorrhage. Expanding simulation lab into the clinical
education gives me opportunities to get a better understanding in safe manner.
Being in this safe environment in the simulation gave me hands on experience and
observe other nursing students do the same procedures. It was a good time to ask
questions. Playing different roles as a nurse, charge nurse, medication’s nurse gave me an
eye opener in a real-life position and having to come up with the correct answer.
I learned some of drugs and side effects in the “Davis’s Drug Guide for nurses”,
ATIs, pre-briefing ad de-briefing. I did take notes from my instructor that will help me with
some problems that to be solve as a reminder. After each simulation, the observers advised
of things that were wrong/good and advised us how we could make improvements. Having
