Introduction
This assignment I have been given the task to design and develop a website for an
organisation called “Cool Beans”. This organisation provides an opportunity for web-
developers to apply for a job and assists users in finding relevant courses to acquire the
skill of a web developer. from the scenario I have been given, I will be creating
wireframes, testing the website, and create a report to conclude the assignment.
When developing the website, I will be using the use of screenshots to show evidence of
the planning, making, and testing of my website. I will also provide proof that the website
has been tested on a range of different devices, platforms, operating systems such as
(desktop, laptop, mobile phone, DuckDuckGo, Firefox, Google Chrome, Windows, Kali
Linux). In addition to this, I will gather feedback by asking two clients to revise my website
and ask what their thoughts are. Subsequently, based on the feedback received, I will
make improvements to optimise it and make sure it works expectedly. Once I have
designed and developed the website, I will evaluate it against the client’s requirements,
taking into consideration that I have met these and any further requirements if needed.
Purpose of Cool Beans:
I have been asked, as a junior developer, to develop a website for Cool Beans. Cool Beans
is an organisation which specialises in creating and maintaining websites for other
businesses but needs to hire more staff. Using the programming languages, html5, css3,
and JavaScript; I will code a website what gives a good image towards potential recruits
and promotes the organisation to their target audience. There will be plenty of
information and hyperlinks for the end-user but also an application form to easily apply
for the job.
Target Audience:
The target audience for this website that I am creating will be targeted at people who
have the necessary skills and certifi cations of a web-developer and are looking for a job.
Client Requirements:
Cool Beans wants me to deliver relevant content to the website I will be developing and
the requirements for this will be the following:
➛ A profile of the company
➛ Examples of former website-developers
➛ Required qualifications and other job specifications
➛ An online application form which users can submit
➛ Hyperlinks which redirect to known website development courses
In addition to these, my website will contain five different web-pages to help
the end-users of the website know what Cool Beans is, with relevant
information and useful material. These are what the five pages being added to
my website are called:
➛ Home
➛ Former Employees
➛ Job Specifications
➛ Courses
,➛ Application Form
When designing the website, I will be mainly considering interactivity and
performance. After completing my final design, I will fully explain why I have
chosen that design and rejected the other design. I will then code all five
webpages which will be following the contents to be able to produce an
efficient website. When creating my web-pages, I will consider the appearance
of my webpages and will also make sure the colour scheme and the layout are
consistent.
When testing my website, I will be focusing on functionality, usability, user
interface, and compatibility testing. I would love to do some security testing,
use OSINT the website and DDOS (as this is legal since this is my website
therefore legally having permission to) but since the website isn’t going to be
hosted, I am unable to do security testing.
This screenshot below is a basic plan developed in excel which shows my objectives with
appropriate timescales.
, Structured Chart
In the screenshot below, I have assembled a structured chart on the website,
https://app.diagrams.net/ to improve my plan on composing the Webpages. I chose this
website to assemble my webpages because it’s neater compared to other software, e.g.,
“Paint.net”. This will show me, whilst coding the HTML fi les that the home page should
have hyperlinks interlinking the four other webpages, therefore making it more simplistic
for the end-user to navigate through my webpage. I also made sure it was clear, and the
background colour was a light blue as it makes the black text sharper in with the
contrasting colours.
