Opdracht Rode loper = Pulmonalisklep insufficiëntieDe pulmonalisklep is een van de vier hartkleppen. Deze klep bevindt zich tussen de
rechterkamer (rechterventrikel) en de longslagader, die het bloed van het hart naar de
longen voert. De klep zorgt ervoor dat het bloed alleen vanuit de rechterkamer naar de
longslagader kan stromen en niet andersom
Aangeboren afwijkingen van de pulmonalisklep. Dit is de meest voorkomende oorzaak van
aandoeningen van de pulmonalisklep. Het defect kan op zichzelf staan of voorkomen in
combinatie met andere hartafwijkingen.
Infectie van de hartklep (endocarditis). Een bijzondere vorm is acuut reuma.
Een beschadiging van de peesdraden of spiertjes die de klep bewegen (na een
hartinfarct).
Beschadiging na een hartoperatie of door een verwonding.
Ouderdom: de klep wordt stugger.
Bij baby’s met een pulmonalisklepstenose hangen de symptomen af van de ernst van de
vernauwing. Symptomen bij matige tot ernstige afwijkingen:
Slecht drinken en groeien.
Veel slapen.
Blauwige verkleuring van de tong, lippen en nageltjes (cyanose).
Na het eten of badderen ontstaat een kramp in de longslagader waardoor de
vernauwing erger wordt. Gedurende enkele minuten ziet het kind dan blauw of
intens bleek.
Bij volwassenen ontstaan symptomen als de hartfunctie achteruitgaat:
Kortademigheid.
Vermoeidheid.
Vocht vasthouden in de benen of buik.
Hartkloppingen of hartritmestoornis (boezemfibrilleren).
