, “Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.”1 This sentence said by
Maria Sklodowska-Curie perfectly emphasizes the uniqueness of the World and the
struggle of people to understand it. Since the beginning of the existence of human
beings, the questions about how to live, how something was created or what is its
purpose were asked, but they have never been fully answered. People are life-time
explorers, they constantly attempt to understand the World from different
perspectives by assuming, analysing and interpreting various phenomena occurring,
as they think inside and around them. Consequently, they make statements and very
often personal judgments designed to describe the World in a simple,
comprehensible way - theories. The theory has a variety of meanings. It can be just
a hunch or an idea without any evidence, as well as explanation of observations
with sufficient verification. Every area of knowledge has its own bunch of theories,
which improves the understanding of World. Each knowledge system has its own
aggregate way of investigating things, proving their validity and finally changing them
in theories.
Nonetheless, every theory has its own limitations, since it explores the problem from
a certain, bounded perspective, excluding the other, alternative points of view, which
basically can reject it. The word “limitation” suggests that even though the great
effort is put in judging something, it still does not provide us with full understanding of
neither a single event or the whole concept of the World intricacity. There is always
something more. For this reason the multiplicity of theories should be retained, as it
improves the objectivity and ambiguity of theories, which is crucial in understanding
the World.
