Description The United Sates Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a federal government agency whom provides health care, benefit programs, and cemetery services to military veterans. The department employs over 250,000 individuals at several medical clinics, benefit offices, nursing homes, and burial grounds all throughout the nation (Affairs, 2005). Its duties are carried out through three main divisions: Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefits Administration, and the National Cemetery Administration. Their vision is to provide veterans with their rightfully earned services and world-class benefits by adhering to the highest standards of integrity, excellence, professionalism, commitment, and compassion (Affairs, 2005). History Financial Performance and Current Financial Position The VA requests $220.2 billion in fiscal (government revenue) 2020 for the United States Dept. of Veterans Affairs, which is a 9.6 percent increase above fiscal 2019 (Office of Finance, 2015). The budget will ensure timely access and high-quality care to the nation’s veterans.
