Onafhankelijke variabele
Onderzoek doen = vragen beantwoorden met data, je moet bewijzen niet suggureren.
De onafhankeleijke variabel Is de variabel die je manipuleert. De afhankelijke
variabele is afhankelijk van de waarde van de onafhankelijke variabele. Onafhankelijke
variabele is x, afhankelijke variabele is y.
Meetniveau
De variabelen bepalen de juiste toets. De niveaus zijn:
- nominaal: in categorieën bijv. man/vrouw beroep e.t.c. (ongeordend)
- ordinaal: Categorieën zijn geordend maar je weet niks over hoeveel er precies
tussen zit bijv. opleidingsniveau.
- interval: score + hoeveel er tussen de scores zit. Deze kan onder de nul gaan.
Bijv. puntenschaal/temperatuur
- ratio: zelfde als interval maar zonder nulpunt.
Het beste voor een onderzoek is informatief: interval of ratio.
Random
Proefpersonen toewijzen aan condities (niveaus van de onafhankelijke variabele) om
verschillen of verbanden te zien op de afhankelijke variabelen. Het liefste at random.
Dit maakt analyse makkelijker. De keuze tussen gebruik van tussen of binnen
proefpersoon variabelen bepaalt ook mede de juiste toets. Het voorbeeld
