Midland Hotel can improve their performance through human resources by making
sure they recruit the right person for the job. Recruitment is a crucial part of the human
resources as it’s the process of making sure the employer identifies the needs of the
hotel and making sure they are employing someone who is suitable for the job. If the
applicant who is applying for the application doesn’t meet the requirements that they
employer has for the job then they will not be recruited as they will not have the right
skills to do the job. Recruiting someone who has the right skills for the job is beneficial
for the Midland Hotel as they will be able to perform better that their job and they will
be able to work effectively with the customers at the Midland Hotel. One example of
making sure the correct person is recruited is to make sure the employer at the Midland
Hotel look at the person specification and the skills that the applicant has in order to
recruit someone who is right for the job. This will be effective as the employer will know
they have recruited the correct person who knows how to deal with customers and can
make sure they are keeping the customers satisfied.
Training is another important part of human resources as training helps the employees
to gain the skills needed for the job. Training at human resources will be making sure
employees are able to meet the needs of the customers and making sure they can solve
any problems that the customers may have. If the employee is trained then they will be
able to deal customers’ needs or complaints and this would be effective for the Midland
Hotel because they would not lose customers for the Midland Hotel. The Midland Hotel
can improve their performance through human resources by staff appraisals. Staff
appraisals are important for the staff at the Midland Hotel this is because without staff
appraisals the employees will not be aware of their performance while they are working
and if they are doing their job well. Staff appraisals encourages employees to perform
better in the future and it also gives an opportunity for employees to gain a high level of
performance which pleases the employer of Midland Hotel to increase the salary and
promotion of their employees. During staff appraisals employees can discuss strengths
and weaknesses with their employers which are important as the employees can work
out the given feedback of their performance by their employer and perform better when
they work. For example if employers don’t give their employees staff appraisals then the
employees will not know whether they are doing their job well and what they need to
do to work effectively with the customers. Also by giving the employees staff appraisals
the employees will be able to gain knowledge of what they are expected to do and how
they can improve. Therefore staff appraisals give the employees an insight of what is
expected for them to do and how they can improve their performance on the feedback
given by their employers and which will lead on to the hotel performing better.
Disciplinary action is important for human resources as it allows the employers at the
Midland Hotel to talk to their employees about their unacceptable behaviour. This is
really important as it allows the employer to discuss their concerns and the complaints
they have received because of their employees. Therefore the employer will need to
take a disciplinary action. For example if an employee at the Midland Hotel disrespect a
