Weefselvocht: vocht tussen de cellen
Om stoffen als zuurstof en voedingsstoffen naar elke cel in het lichaam te krijgen en
afvalstoffen af te voeren moet vocht met deze stoffen uit de bloedbaan treden en
weer terug gezogen worden

Lymfe:
Voert 10-15% van de weefselvloeistof af. Komt uiteindelijk via heel
lymfestelsel na reiniging in de lymfeknopen weer in het bloed terecht bij
ondersleutelbeenader (vena subclavia)
Lymfatisch systeem:
Op plaatsen waar kleine lymfevaten zich verenigen tot grote, bevinden zich
lymfeklieren/knopen
In de lymfeknopen wordt de lymfe gefilterd. Je vindt er veel witte
bloedlichaampjes voor extra afweer. Bij organen en in hals, oksels en liezen
vinden we lokale lymfeknopen.
Lymfeknopen ‘maken’ o.a. witte bloedlichaampjes. Bij hoge activiteit zijn ze
opgezet.
De milt is op te vatten als lymfeknoop in de bloedbaan.
Extra functie milt: bloedreservoir en recycling-station
Rol bij afweer:
- Filteren en vernietigen van micro-organismen
- Productie van afvalstoffen
- Fagocytose van lichaamsvreemde stoffen
- Lymfeknopen gezwollen bij infectie
