Bij een ulcus duodeni wordt de pijn erger als de maag leeg is. Bijnaam voor
deze pijn is ‘hongerpijn’. Kan vooral ’s nachts optreden. Vaak wordt er dan iets
gegeten. Drinken van een glas warme melk helpt ook.
Bij een ulcus ventriculi valt op dat de pijn toeneemt na het eten. Het voedsel
en vooral vrijkomend zuur maakt de zweer extra pijnlijk

- Maagperforatie

- Melena
- Meestal bloeding in slokdarm of maag, gaat daardoor vaak gepaard met
bloedbraken (hematemesis)
