MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN

What is the reason is chose ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’?
I chose this book because I have already red
the Dutch versions.
I enjoyed reading this book. It is a exciting
fiction. The personages are weird and funny.
The main character is Jacob Portman.

The book exercise I chose is option 1:
trace the main character.

Jacob Portman, he is the m ain character in this book. He is a sixteen years old boy who
lives in America. When Jacob was a little boy his grandfather always told him stories
about an island with an orphan house with peculiar children. Jacob was sad, he was
bullied by schoolmates because he believed the stories. A few years later Jacob didn’t
believe that the stories are r eal anymore, he thought it were some stupid tales.
One day Jacob had been called by his grandfather, Abe Portman, he said that he was in
danger because of the monsters. Jacob knew about the weird attacks his grandfather
has. He decided to take a look at his house. By time he got there, his grandpa was on the
floor. Jacob saw someone standing between the trees. He was attacked by some creature,
Jacob was sure about that. While Jacob his Grandfather was dying in his arms, Abe told
him that he needs to go to the island to tell the people in the house what happened.
After the accident, Jacob told people about what he went through, and about the
monster he had seen in the forest. However no one believed him. The police told him
that he probably had seen a dog, or he imagined that person. Jacob was afraid, he had
nightmares and he couldn’t sleep anymore. Jacob went to a psychologist. In this part of
the book he is afraid, moreover he is angry at his parents. His parents told him they
were angry at Abe because he had c aused those thoughts about monsters.
Later in the story, jacob and his father went to the island. Jacob went to the remote
house, but the house was leave and broken. He was really sad. He want to give up his
