Definitie IPL en Laser
Laser
Light amplification by simulated emission of radiation.

Verschil tussen IPL en Laser
IPL Laser
Polychromatisch = verschillende golflengte Monochromatisch = 1 golflengte, 1 kleur

Golflengte wordt bepaald door het laser medium. Bepaalt de soort laserstraal, uitgedrukt in
nanometers (nm). Hoe groter de nanometers, hoe dieper die doordringt in de huid,
Laserlicht heeft één speciale golflengte, één kleur. Meest gebruikte zijn infrarood of zichtbaar licht.
IPL heeft meerdere golflengtes
Golflengte bepaalt:

Zichtbaar licht is duidelijk waarneembaar binnen een regenboog. De kleuren van een regenboog zijn
niet zomaar wat kleuren bij elkaar maar zijn gerangschikt
naar golflengte.
Van rood oranje geel groen blauw violet.
Violet heeft een korte golflengte dan rood. Violet licht gaat
over in UV, die heeft een kortere golflengte dan Violet. Dit
voel je niet en zie je niet.
Rood licht gaat over in infrarode, wat we afkorten met IR,
die heeft een grotere golflengte dan rood. Dit voel je als
warmte maar zie je niet.
Door verschillende golflengtes zijn er verschillende
indringdieptes. Vanaf 1100 nm wordt het in water
geabsorbeerd, waardoor het wat oppervlakkiger in de huid werkt.
